I spent the first twelve years of my adult life as a high school English teacher. In 1981, having long worked weekends photographing weddings, I decided to give up ten weeks of vacation every summer and free health care and devote my full attention to a career in professional photography. In 1985 I became a partner with event photographer Julia Russell.
Twice New Hampshire Photographer of the Year, my portraiture relied to a great extent on a sense of place and the narrative theme that we share a special relationship with the natural world.
Now semi-retired, I find myself engaged in thematic projects and alternative analog processes-currently platinum/palladium fine art printmaking.
